Vancouver Queer Stories
Vancouver Queer Stories is a storytelling project that helps showcase and amplify stories by members of our city’s 2SLGBTQ+ community. Our events will showcase a diverse group of ordinary queer individuals as they share anecdotes from their own lives.
VQS events are community-based and free to attend! Our wonderful friends at The Park Pub & Restaurant on Davie Street, in the heart of the West End, have kindly offered to host our storytelling nights so that everyone in our community can come together.
If you wish to be a speaker at one of our upcoming events, please submit your story though this form. If you’re joining us in the audience, remember seating is first come, first served and cannot be guaranteed — arrive early to save your spot!

Share Your Story with Us
Everybody has a story. Everyday stories and stories that are out of this world. Stories that make you laugh, or think, or tug at your heartstrings. Stories that educate or entertain. Everybody has a collection of stories that make us who we are.
We love fiction, but Vancouver Queer Voices is an event for telling real anecdotes from your own life. Every event will revolve around a different theme, and we look forward to hearing the different emotions a single subject can create in different people.
We want to hear YOUR story. Come and share it with us, or come and listen as part of our audience, and support our storytellers as they add their voice to Vancouver’s queer landscape.
Our Commitment to Diversity
Every event will have a maximum of nine speakers sharing a 10-minute story they wrote around a chosen theme, which will vary for each event. Read more about our upcoming events and themes.
Our hope is to create a safe space where diverse members of our 2SLGBTQ+ community feel comfortable to share their stories. We are all ordinary people —no experts here! While we welcome (and encourage!) repeat storytellers, we will always give priority to captivating anecdotes by new speakers.
We also encourage members from underrepresented minorities within the queer community to participate in our storytelling events. Our hope is to create a collection of stories that showcase the full kaleidoscope of queerness in the city, and will be happy to coach you if you need help bringing your story to life.
Everybody has a story, and we want to help you tell yours!
